Remember that countless LGBT folk have been denied hospital visitation rights when their partners fell ill, denied life insurance and inheritance when their partners passed on, denied adoption rights for the children they helped raise.
Remember that this is a hard-fought battle that’s finally won, but it’s only one in a war for the basic human rights we’re due. We’ve come a long way and there’s a long way yet to go.
