What she means: How do people not understand the DFP characterization has absolutely nothing to do with whose dick goes where, it's about a reading of Sherlock that persists in asserting he would use, manipulate or hurt John for his own selfish ends, and to proclaim after all we have seen that Sherlock Holmes is a sociopath who would deliberately exploit or manipulate John sexually is a deliberate refusal to accept a full reading of all aspects of his character and effectively denies him his humanity in the service of a reductive, simplistic gloss on a truly complex, compelling character journey which is, you know, your prerogative but ultimately limits your storytelling to a fairly limited narrative viewpoint that is frankly as limiting as a woobified, passively trembling "bottom" reading, and hey here we are again right back where we started, at the assertion that basing characterization on who puts his dick where is laughably, insultingly simplistic
